Web on the Piste Wraps Up for 2008

August 26th, 2008 by Gruden

Another year, another Web On The Piste down the hatch. For those that have not already heard about the WOTP conference held in Queenstown NZ, it’s all about Rich Internet Applications, usability and most importantly – Microsoft and Adobe playing happily together. Gruden presented 24 top International & Local speakers, including web gods Thomas Burleson, Geoff Bowers, Robert Hoekman Jr, Simon Reid, Michael Kordahi & Simon Slooten, discussing the ins and outs of RIAs & Usability with delegates from all over the globe.

Picturesque Queenstown lived up to expectation once again, with many delegates taking the opportunity to enjoy the slopes (and presumably less memorably, the nightlife), for a fantastic week with their industry peers.

A big thankyou to our Gold Sponsors Adobe, Microsoft and Cynergy Systems, our Silver Sponsor Nectarine, our Bronze sponsor Daemon and our Local Sponsor HM Associates for their wonderful support of the conference and industry development. The animations provided by Nectarine Studios for the conference can be viewed on Gruden’s YouTube Channel. A further thankyou to the local and international delegates from the web community – Web on the Piste would not be possible without your dedication and participation.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the slopes next year!

ARIA Hall of Fame & Voting Site Go Live

August 26th, 2008 by Gruden

The Annual ARIA Awards are just around the corner and for the 7th year running Gruden is again heavily involved with the awards event. In addition to providing Gruden’s normal responsibilities such as the nominations & collection of digital assets website and the live voting website, we also designed and developed the ARIA Hall of Fame website this year.

“Working with Mark, Susan and the team at ARIA is always a pleasure, something we all look forward to each year – that as well as attending the actual event!” says Todd. “We’ve had great success in streamlining the pre & post preparation for the ARIA awards event, mainly through building easy to use and highly efficient online tools to reduce management overhead” Todd explains. Disney Channel Australia New Homepage Launch

August 26th, 2008 by Gruden

Gruden has recently designed, developed and launched the new look Disney Channel Australia website, building on the long standing relationship we have with Disney Channel Australia.

The new design allows the website to make much greater use of video content, gives users easier access to compelling games and provides Disney Channel Australia with a fresh new look which is consistent with Disney Channel’s online presence around the world.

Gruden integrated the new design with Disney’s in-house Java-based Content Management System and added new sections and functionality to the CMS as part of this project. The template-based system that Gruden developed allows easy updating of content and automatically generates search-engine friendly versions of all Flash content. The Fine Wine Delivery Website Goes Live

August 26th, 2008 by Gruden

The Fine Wine Delivery Company (FWDC) is New Zealand’s leading fine wine retailer with over 10 years experience selling quality wine. Gruden recently redesigned their e-commerce website www.finewinedelivery.co.nz. The goal of the new site was to create a fresh new user experience and online presence to provide customers with seamless browsing and a intuitive checkout experience.

Gruden managed and implemented the entire project, from scoping to look and feel design, development and integration with the Shado CMS content management system, testing and delivery of the website and e-newsletters. The feedback they’ve received from customers has been excellent and reinforces that shopping on the new site ticks all the boxes for the online wine connoisseur.

Gruden was excited to work with FWDC for a second time, following the huge success of their Best Wine Buys Site developed in 2006 for their discounted & budget range of wines. Check it out at www.bestwinebuys.co.nz.

Australian Ambassador visits our China Office!

August 25th, 2008 by Gruden

On Thursday 3rd of July 2008, we had the honour of having The Australian Ambassador to China, Dr Geoff Raby and Laurie Smith (China Trade Commissioner) visit our China office in the Qingdao Software Park. Todd (CEO) and Stephen (CFO) were there for the visit and carried out discussions about doing business in China.

“It was a great privilege and honour to have such high profile government officials visit our office” says Todd. “It was a great visit and were treated to a traditional Chinese dinner with other Australian companies and the Ambassador.”

Todd was very positive and stated that “the visit definitely strengthened our ties with not only with the Qingdao Software Park, but also with Austrade and the Australian Government working in China. We’re looking forward to working closely with them and further expanding our operations across China”. “It’s exciting times with our AsiaPac expansion and this visit illustrates the close ties Gruden has with the Australian Government in China”.
